About us

HYTECON AG, based in Switzerland, was established in 2015. The focus of the company, with subsidiaries in Germany and Korea, is on the development of products for the treatment and disinfection of water for the private and small commercial sector. Only the latest technical innovations such as UV LEDs are used.

UV LEDs are particularly suitable for small disinfection devices to be used directly at a single tap or faucet (point-of-use, known as PoU). In the past, it was not possible to do this efficiently when using conventional UV lamps.

After intensive work by HYTECON, many aspects of our innovative developments have already been registered for patent.

Our first product to be launched is the most powerful water treatment device in the PoU sector; this has been proven by numerous independent test authorities.

The challenge

Many substances are removed by municipal water treatment. However, even then it does not mean that our tap water is completely pure. 

One reason is that the quality of our water is only guaranteed until it reaches the point at which the water enters into a building. Thus, despite strict regulations and high water quality standards, there is still the possibility of further drinking water contamination until it leaves the tap. For example, water that was previously clean may become polluted within pipes, tanks and fittings by heavy metals and microorganisms.

In many parts of the world, tap water can be contaminated with the following substances:

  • Bacteria, viruses and parasites
  • Nitrates
  • Drugs and hormones
  • Pesticides and herbicides
  • Toxic heavy metals such as arsenic and mercury
  • Solvents and other volatile organic compounds
  • Chlorine, Chloramines & Trihalomethanes
  • Fluorides

The harmful substances and pathogens listed above make it advisable to restore the quality of drinking water before use.

OUR ANSWER

The HYPRO™ water unit is a small drinking water system for private and small commercial use. It is a combination of the best available technologies, as used in advanced waterworks.

The HYPRO unit is connected to your tap, such as in the kitchen, where it reliably removes harmful substances and destroys pathogens.

Our process

Superior technology

The use of LED technology in conjunction with simulated computational fluid dynamics (CFD), rapid prototyping and our own test centre, has enabled the development of products with superior disinfection performance for the domestic and commercial sector.

Of particular importance are our network solutions that continuously inform and store the status of the device  in one place.

The HYPRO water unit, for the treatment and disinfection of water, is only the first step in the development of a range of new, ground-breaking products.

The procedure

Disinfection by means of UV light is a purely physical process that allows safe application without the use of chemicals and without any by-products. The process is based on the destruction of DNA within bacteria, viruses and parasites and takes only a few seconds.

                                    

Our patented dynamic twist technology optimizes the flow pattern within the system in order to utilize the UV light to its  maximum  extent. The result is superior disinfection, which  has been confirmed by leading independent  institutions.

The use of UV-LEDs in the HYPRO water system has the following  advantages in particular: 

  • Unlimited on/off cycles means that the LEDs are only switched on when the water is drawn from the tap. This saves energy, helping to protect the environment.
  • Due to the extremely fast reaction time of the LEDs, disinfection performance is immediately available. There is no warm-up period and rinsing processes are avoided, leading to a reduction in water consumption.
  • LEDs do not heat up on the water side of the unit. Scaling and frequent cleaning are made obsolete.
  • The low supply voltage ensures safe operation.
  • No mercury is used, which makes the technology particularly environmentally friendly and already implements the Minamata Convention.
